What is being explored
The supplier describes Bed Guardian as a 1,024 point fibre pressure sensing pad for care environments. The sensing fibres are woven into a soft, breathable pad rather than added as a rigid film.
Supplier material describes bed entry and exit patterns, sitting up, extended stillness, prolonged absence, pressure distribution, turning records and a tap on the pad call for help.
It is designed to turn changes in pressure and posture into timely information for a care team. Good technology should give good people a faster signal, not attempt to replace them.
