Aged care fundingSupport at Home started on 1 November 2025 and replaced Home Care Packages. Inside it, the Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme can fund products that help older people live safely at home. Here is how Seenyor can fit, and how a family or provider asks us for a quote.
Support at Home began on 1 November 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages Program and the Short-Term Restorative Care Programme. People who had a Home Care Package moved across to it. It funds clinical care, help with independence and everyday living, and access to products, equipment and home modifications. (Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, My Aged Care)
You get there through an aged care assessment, arranged through My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or online. If you are approved, a letter sets out the services and funding you are approved for, and you choose a provider. (My Aged Care)
The Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme is part of Support at Home. It gives upfront funding, separate from your other Support at Home services, for products, equipment and home changes that meet your assessed needs. Your assessor records an AT-HM approval in your Notice of Decision and support plan. (My Aged Care)
| AT-HM funding tier | Amount | Access period |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Up to $500 | 12 months |
| Medium | Up to $2,000 | 12 months |
| High | Up to $15,000 (higher amounts for assistive technology can be approved with evidence) | 12 months |
Source: My Aged Care: AT-HM scheme. One Seenyor device is A$770 + GST (A$847 inc GST), so the tier you are approved for matters. Ask your provider how the price fits your funding, and whether you need to make a contribution. (My Aged Care)
AT-HM funding can only be used for items on the AT-HM List, where an assessed need is documented in the support plan. The List (updated 17 July 2026) includes personal emergency alarm systems and environmental emergency alarm systems under signalling, alarming and localisation, with a recommended prescription category of Prescribed. That means a suitably qualified health professional, such as an occupational therapist, will usually be involved. (AT-HM List)
Whether Seenyor is the right item for a particular person is a decision for their provider and health professional. We are happy to give them product information, specifications and a quote.
How it usually works
An aged care assessment through My Aged Care decides whether AT-HM is approved, and it goes in the support plan.
Your Support at Home provider discusses the equipment you need and, for prescribed items, arranges a health professional.
The provider, or the family on their behalf, asks us for a quote for the number of devices and rooms.
The provider orders, we invoice the provider, then we deliver and arrange setup.
Under the AT-HM scheme your provider sources and supplies products and equipment, so please talk to them before you buy. (Source: My Aged Care, AT-HM scheme.)
CHSP gives entry-level help to older people living at home, and it is still running: the government has extended it to 30 June 2029. (My Aged Care, Department of Health, Disability and Ageing)
My Aged Care lists equipment and products as a service that can be provided through CHSP, Support at Home or the Transition Care Program, with eligibility set by your aged care assessor. CHSP providers set their own prices and you may be asked to contribute. If you receive CHSP services, ask your provider whether a fall detection device can be supplied. (My Aged Care: Equipment and products, My Aged Care: CHSP)
You can always buy Seenyor yourself, without funding. The device is A$770 + GST (A$847 inc GST), a one-off price. The optional 24/7 monitoring plan is a separate monthly subscription agreed after installation. If you hope to use Support at Home funding, talk to your provider first, because funded items are sourced through them.
Comparing options first? Read Seenyor vs other fall detection options. If the person also has an NDIS plan, see buying Seenyor with NDIS funding.
For families and providers
Families, care partners and Support at Home providers can ask us for a formal quote. We send the tax invoice to whoever is paying, usually the provider.
The button opens a ready-made email to us. Please do not send health records or clinical reports.
